The Yunquera village occupies a privileged territory inserted into the heart of Sierra de las Nieves which can be found at the south of the Iberian Peninsula and at the Southeast of the province of Málaga, within the geographical area called “Serranía de Ronda”. The municipality contains the highest surface covered by Spanish Fir of the world, besides other flora and fauna peculiarities. The village counts with a surface area of 58 Km2; Yunquera is located at 61 Km from the capital city, a distance that supposes a 45/50-minute trip taking into account the improvements on the roads by means of which the place can be accessed. Yunquera is the municipality located at the highest altitude above the regional sea level corresponding to 682m above the sea level. Nowadays, Yunquera represents the municipality with the greatest number of regional inhabitants. There are several ways by means of which you can access to Yunquera, according to the origin: From Málaga through the A-357 road, then the MA-404 road is to be taken up to Alozaina and then through the C-366 road up to Yunquera. From Marbella through the A-355 road up to Monda so that the MA-419 road is taken up to Guaro, then the MA-413 road until the C-366 road is reached in the direction to Yunquera. From Sevilla through the A-372 road up to Ronda and from that point onwards the A-366 road is taken to El Burgo and Yunquera. From Antequera through the A-382 road up to Campillos, from there by the A-357 road up to Ardales and then the la MA-446 road is taken up to El Burgo and the travel continues by the A-366 road up to Yunquera, or the A- 357 road is taken up to the crossroads with the MA-404 road up to Alozaina and then the A-366 road up to Yunquera.
